The bending goes OK. I will include pictures in the future. I went through a lot of trial and error getting the bend right as there is a lot of spring-back. My jig is fairly simple. I have heard that putting a little fabric softener in the water helps, but I haven't tried that.
Thanks for reading

How did the bending go after one and a half hour of steaming for an inch thick piece of wood? Do you or can you share your bending fixture for this beast? I can not imagine the force to bend it. I have done 1/4 inch thick pieces and laminated them using clamps on a template for my wooden canoes.

Please send a picture of your set up if you can. Good work by the way. I love steam bending wood but never that thick and not for furniture so I am just curious.

Thank you,

Barry

Nice finishing. Yup i agree when it comes to pattern makers vise, there is a lot of excavating to be settled. Really annoying at times when there is so much to do but so little time. The 4″ x 4″ posts on the legs is perfect. Doing it a bit high would affect the stability

Thanks.
The panels are indeed solid. They are all book-matched. The bottom is lined with cedar.
Thanks for the comment.

I really like your Sapelle hope chest... can i ask, are the panels solid? (prob are) just checking... very nice, i like how you shaped the legs.
I plan on doing one in 1/4 white oak, got some incredable 3/8" 6x24 and 6x36 solid panels, im wondering, should i have them vertical? because they fit perfectly the way they are to do em horizontal. Most i see are vertical, is that maby to flow with the grain of the legs??

Your opinion would be very helpful, I love your work, how long have you been woodworking? (sorry havent read your bio or anything) time constraints and all :)
  Kind Regards, Ron Holmberg
